The Government of Tamil Nadu is implementing five types of marriage assistance schemes to help economically backward families. Through these schemes the Government of Tamil Nadu assists in the marriage expenses of poor women.
Benefits: Rs. 25,000 and 50,000 will be given based on the educational qualification of the women.
Eligibility:
Minimum 10th Pass
The bride must have a bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited institution.

1. MOOVALUR RAMAMIRTHAM AMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME.
Benefits: Rs. 20,000 will be provided for the wedding expenses of poor women.
Eligibility: The annual income of the family should be within Rs. 20,000 thousand. The bride should have completed 18 years of age. Only one woman per family will be allowed to benefit. Must apply 45 days before marriage.
How to Apply?
Contact: Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Panchayat Union Commissioner, District Social Welfare, Officer Extension Officer, Rural Welfare Officers.
2.DR DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME.
Benefits: Rs. 25,000 financial assistance is provided under this scheme.
Out of which 15,000 is for ECS
10,000 as National Savings Certificate and 4g 22 Carat Gold Coin for Thali/ Mangalsuthra.
If you are a graduate, a stipend of Rs 50,000 is provided.
Out of which Rs. 30,000 is given as ECS
20,000 as National Savings Certificate and 4g 22 Carat Gold Coin for Thali/ Mangalsuthra.
Qualifications:
There is no such thing as a minimum educational qualification. There is no annual income limit. The bride and groom must belong to the SC/ST/BC/MBC class.
3.EVR MANI AMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR DAUGHTERS OF POOR WIDOW.
Benefits: Rs. 15,000 will be given to a poor widow for marriage.
Eligibility: The family's annual income must be under 72,000 INR.
How to apply: Meet with the District Social Welfare Officer in person.
Duration: Three months
4.MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE TO NORMAL PERSON MARRYING A VISUALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON.
Benefits: 20,000 INR financial assistance will be provided.
Out of which 10,000 as cash
10,000 as National Savings Certificate
A certificate of appreciation will be issued along with it.
Eligibility: Both spouses must be over 18 years of age. Must have National disability ID card.
How to apply: You can apply in person at the district disabled rehabilitation officer.
Duration: Three months
5.DR MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY INTER CASTE MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME
Benefits: Financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 / - will be provided under this scheme.
10,000 as National Savings Certificate
5,000 as Cheque / DD
If any of the bride and groom belong to the SC / ST class, a financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 will be given out of which 10,000 will be given as National Savings Certificate and 10,000 as Cheque / DD.
Eligibility: There is no income limit. There is no such thing as educational qualification. The bride must be between the ages of 18 and 30 and apply 45 days before the wedding.
How to apply: Meet with the District Social Welfare Officer in person.
Duration: 3 months.
